Getting started

Flexform opens into an infinite note canvas. For the first session, use this short path:

  1. Create a new canvas.
  2. Write or draw a few strokes to confirm pen, mouse, or touch input.
  3. Zoom and move around the canvas to understand that it is not a fixed page.
  4. Add a memo or text block, then move it anywhere.
  5. Save once and remember the folder.

If you only need to capture inspiration, do not organize everything immediately. Write first, collect material first, then use shapes, text, mind maps, and attachments to structure it later.

Files and recovery

Flexform supports file association for .pskt and .bskt, autosave, temporary recovery files, recent works, favorites, and folder-based collections.

If a work appears missing, check Recent, Favorites, Recovery, and the folder where the work was created.

Recommended search order:

  1. Open the gallery and check Recent.
  2. If you marked the work, check Favorites.
  3. If the app closed unexpectedly or the file was not saved, check Recovery or Unsaved items.
  4. If you opened the work from a folder, return to that folder and look for .pskt or .bskt.
  5. If the file is on an external drive, sync folder, or network path, confirm that location is still available.

Attachments and objects

You can add images, videos, file links, web links, notes, text, shapes, voice items, and mind map-style objects to the canvas. Large media may need careful handling because it can increase document size and memory use.

Common uses:

The gallery organizes recent works, favorites, recovery items, folders, thumbnails, sorting, layout preferences, and file operations.

As your canvas collection grows, organize works by folders: study, projects, materials, and temporary drafts. Favorite important works; leave unfinished items in Recent or Recovery until you decide where they belong.

Settings and subscription

Settings include autosave interval, teaching tips, theme-related options, and subscription entries. Advanced features may open the subscription page when a limit is reached.

FAQ

How is Flexform different from Sketch Board?

Flexform is closer to open-note organization: memos, mind maps, text, media, files, and relationships on one canvas. Sketch Board focuses more on whiteboard drawing, stroke editing, layers, and import/export workflows.

Why does it slow down after adding many images or videos?

Large media increases document size and memory pressure. Keep large videos or files as external references when possible, and embed only the material you need directly on the canvas.

What should I do before saving important work?

Confirm the folder and save manually at least once. Autosave is a protection layer, not a replacement for knowing where an important document lives.
